  • It is recommended that no other vaccines should be administered within 14 days before or after vaccination with Nobilis® Rhino CV.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
  • Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not mix with any other immunological veterinary medicinal product.
  • If the oculonasal or spray method is used for the administration of the vaccine, ensure that there is no iron, chloride or disinfectants in the water.
  • Dispose of all unused vaccine, empty containers and disposable equipment in accordance to local waste disposal regulations.
  • It is good vaccination practice when handling the vaccine to avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing.
  • After reconstitution the vaccine should be used within 2 hours of reconstitution and not be stored for future use.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

For oculonasal or spray administration.

Each chicken should receive 1 dose of vaccine.

ADMINISTRATION

  • ·       General guideline

The vaccine can be administered to 1-day-old chicks and older chickens by coarse spray or by the oculonasal route of administration.

The optimum time and method of administration depend largely upon the local situation. Veterinary advice should be sought.

The vaccine is supplied as a freeze-dried pellet that should be dissolved in cool, clean water which if free of iron and chlorine.

Chlorine at levels as low as 1 ppm is known to have a detrimental effect on vaccine virus stability.

After mixing, the solution should be allowed to stand for 15 to 30 minutes before adding the vaccine.

When dissolving the vaccine: do not shake, but mix thoroughly with a clean stirrer, avoiding frothing.

Care must be taken to apply the vaccine promptly after reconstitution.

  • ·       Oculonasal Administration

See general guideline above.

Dissolve the vaccine in clean, non-chlorinated water and administer by means of a standardised dropper.

The drop size of the dropper must equal one dose; therefore, the vaccine must be dissolved in an appropriate volume of water.

For instance, if the drop size of the dropper is 0,03 mℓ, the vaccine should be reconstituted at 1 000 doses per 30 mℓ.

  • ·       Spray Method

See general guideline above.

Dissolve the vaccine in cool, clean, non-chlorinated water. The appropriate number of vials should be opened under the surface of the water.

Where the number of chickens is between the standard dosages, the next higher dosage should be used.

The volume of water for reconstitution should be sufficient to ensure an even distribution when sprayed onto the chickens. This will vary according to the age of the chickens being vaccinated and the management system, but 250 to 500 mℓ of water per 1 000 doses is suggested.

Apply the vaccine promptly after reconstitution.

The vaccine suspension should be spread evenly over the correct number of chickens, at a distance of 30 to 40 cm using a coarse spray, preferably when the chickens are sitting together in dim light. The spray apparatus should be free from sediments, corrosion and traces of disinfectants and should be used for vaccination purposes only.

VACCINATION PROGRAMME

The optimum time and method of administration depend largely upon the local situation. The advice of a veterinarian should be sought.
