INDICATIONS

Fortegra® is indicated for the vaccination of healthy broilers at 1-day old via spray cabinet administration as an aid in the prevention of coccidiosis due to Eimeria mivati and Eimeria tenella and as an aid in the reduction of lesions related to Eimeria acervulina and Eimeria. maxima in chickens.

COMPOSITION

Fortegra® contains live oocysts of coccidia: E. acervulina, E. maxima, E. maxima MFP,

E. mivati and E. tenella.

Preservative:  Gentamycin

STORAGE

  • Store between 2 °C and 8 °C.
  • Do not freeze.

WARNINGS

  • Withdrawal period: Do not vaccinate within 21 days of slaughter.
  • Vaccinate healthy chickens only.
  • Do not use with pre-starter or starter feeds containing coccidiostats.
  • Birds must have access to their droppings as reinfection is required to induce immunity.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND ANIMALS.
  • Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE – USE ONLY AS DIRECTED

Spray cabinet administration

The vaccine should be prepared or mixed at the rate of 210 mℓ of distilled water per 1 000 doses of vaccine.

Dilution:

1 000 dose presentation – Take the contents of the 10 mℓ vial (4 mℓ vaccine) and add

206 mℓ distilled water to make up a 210 mℓ solution.

10 000 dose presentation – Take the contents of the 20 mℓ vial (10 mℓ vaccine) add

2 090 mℓ distilled water to make up a 2 100 mℓ solution.

Each 100 chicks should receive 21 mℓ of vaccine solution delivered via spray cabinet administration (dye may be added as a marker).

PRESENTATION

Type I glass vials of 10 mℓ containing 4 mℓ live oocysts (1 000 doses) or Type I glass vials of 20 mℓ containing 10 mℓ live oocysts (10 000 doses).

Vials are sealed with rubber stoppers and aluminium seals.
