Porcilis® M Hyo is an inactivated vaccine for the active immunisation of pigs to reduce symptoms of infection with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae in pigs.
COMPOSITION
Porcilis® M Hyo is an inactivated bacterin containing the whole cell concentrate of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae strain 11. This antigen is incorporated in an adjuvant in order to give a prolonged stimulation of immunity. The product stimulates the development of active immunity in pigs against strains of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae. Each 2ml dose contains inactivated whole cell concentrate of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae strain 11³ 7.0 log2 Ab titre

WARNINGS
- Withdrawal period - Nil
- Destroy any unused vaccine, empty vaccine containers, needles, etc., for instance by burning after completion of the vaccination.
- Do not store partially used containers for future use, and use the entire contents when opened.
- Use within 3 hours of opening.
- Shake well before use.
- Accidental self-injection may lead to severe allergic reactions. Consult a physician.
- Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
- Although this vaccine has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.
PRECAUTIONS
- Vaccinate healthy pigs only.
- Do not mix the vaccine with other vaccines.
- Observe aseptic precautions. Ensure that the vaccination equipment (needles, syringes etc.) are clean and sterile prior to use.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and sterile during vaccination.
- Avoid intravenous vaccination.
- It is good vaccination practice, when handling the vaccine, to avoid contact with the eyes, hands and clothing.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Shake well before use.
- Use only as directed.
- Allow the vaccine to reach room temperature (20 ºC to 25 ºC) before use.
Dosage and Administration
Intramuscular injection of 2 mℓ in the neck in the area behind the ear.
Vaccination Scheme
- Vaccinate piglets twice with a three week interval. The first injection can be given from an age of 1 week.
- Onset of immunity in 1-2 week old vaccinated piglets is observed 3 weeks after the last injection.
- Duration of immunity in vaccinated 1-2 week old piglets is observed up to 24 weeks of age.
Vaccination Reaction
A mean transient temperature increase in body temperature and a transient swelling/redness may occur in some animals at the site of injection on the first 1-2 days after vaccination.
STORAGE
- Store in the dark between 2 ºC and 8 ºC. Do not freeze.
- Avoid prolonged or repetitive exposure to high ambient temperatures following removal from the refrigerator prior to use.
- Protect from direct sunlight.
PRESENTATION
PET vials containing 20mℓ (10 doses), 50mℓ (25 doses), 100 mℓ (50 doses) 200ml (100 doses) or 250mℓ (125 doses) vaccine.
