Indications
Controls ticks on Cattle.

Composition
Contains Chlorfenvinphos (organophosphate) 30 % m/v

Warnings

  • Withdrawal period (meat): Do not slaughter animals for human consumption within 7 days of last application.
  • Withdrawal period (milk): Do not milk animals for human consumption within 6 hours of application.
  • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN, UNINFORMED PERSONS AND PETS.
  • Store concentrate in original container away from food and feed.
  • Toxic to fish, bees and wildlife.
  • Handle with care. Poisonous by contact, swallowing and inhalation.
  • In case of ingestion or poisoning, seek medical advice immediately and make this information available to him/her.
  • Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

Precautions

  • Do not mix Notix® NF with any other dip.
  • Avoid contact with concentrate. In case of accidental skin contamination, wash immediately and thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Avoid prolonged contact with dipwash or inhalation of spray mist.
  • Do not eat, drink or smoke while or after mixing and handling concentrate, dipwash or spray mix, or before washing hands and face thoroughly.
  • Prevent contamination of food, utensils, grazing, drinking water, dams, rivers etc.
  • Destroy empty containers by perforation and flattening and never re-use for any other purpose.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after use.

Note to physician
This is an organophosphate poison. Keep patient fully atropinised and use 2 P.A.M.

Symptoms of poisoning
Headache, dizziness, pupils usually constricted, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, salivation, sweating, muscular weakness or twitching, convulsions, tightness in chest, difficulty in breathing, respiratory failure, coma. 

First aid and antidote

  • Remove person from source of contamination and remove all contaminated clothing.
  • Wash thoroughly with copious quantities of soap and water.
  • Flush contaminated eyes with clean water for fifteen minutes.
  • If taken by mouth induce vomiting by tickling back of throat, if the person is conscious.
  • Keep air passages clear. If breathing stops apply artificial respiration (not mouth-to-mouth)
  • Give atropine sulphate 2 mg by mouth immediately and repeat half-hourly, until signs of flushed skin, dry mouth and rapid pulse appear or the person is seen by a physician.

Note to veterinarian
Administer atropine sulphate intravenously at the rate of 1 mg/10 kg repeatedly until effect is obtained and thereafter repeat as needed to maintain atropinisation at the rate of 0,5 mg/10 kg. Inject 2 P.A.M. intravenously at the rate of 50 mg/kg.

Directions for use
USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
Shake well before use.
For external use on cattle only.
Protect from extremes of heat and cold.

For cattle
Premixing : Premix by adding the measured volume of concentrate slowly to double the volume of water, while stirring. Then pour the premix into the bulk of water in the tank or spray race sump. Mix contents of the bulk tank well before commencing dipping or spraying.

Dipping : It is good management to dip calves under three months of age separately from the large animals and preferably after the main herd.

Initial filling 1 ℓ 600 ℓ
Replenish 1 ℓ 350 ℓ
Boosting: Add 100 mℓ Notix® NF after every 100 head of cattle

Note: It is good spray dipping practice not to carry dip wash over from one spraying to  the next and preferably to make up only sufficient dip wash for each weeks spraying  (about three litres per head).

Hand spraying: Prepare about three litres dip wash per head at 1 : 600 (40 mℓ : 25 litres  water). Thoroughly wet the animal, particularly the ears and under the tail.   

Dipping interval:
Ticks – Dip or spray weekly or in cases of severe brown ear tick infestation, at 4 – 5 day    intervals (5-4-5 day intervals in a two week cycle).

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place below 25 °C.  Protect from direct sunlight.  Store under lock and key.

Presentation
Available in 1 ℓ and 5 ℓ containers.
